New England Foundation for the Arts Announces National Pilot Program for Collaborative Theater

The New England Foundation for the Arts (NEFA) announces a new grant opportunity for a national pilot program to promote the development of contemporary collaborative theater works and the reach of those works through touring. Modeled on NEFA's National Dance Project, the National Theater Pilot will provide grants for approximately 12 projects over two years while building an informed, interactive network of producing theater presenters and ensembles that will support the promotion of the projects through their development and tour planning.

U.S.-based nonprofit organizations and individual artists who have identified collaborators are eligible to apply. All projects must have at least one committed organizational partner who will participate in the development and/or touring of the work. Organizations must be able to prove nonprofit status; for individual artists, an organizational partner may serve as the fiscal agent.
Deadline for grant application is September 1, 2010. Visit NEFA for more information on its National Theater Pilot and to access online grant application forms.
