EXHIBITION RESOURCES

ExhibitsUSA
ExhibitsUSAExhibitsUSA (EUSA), an M-AAA program established in 1988, offers diverse art and humanities exhibitions to museums and other exhibiting institutions nationwide.

EUSA helps M-AAA fulfill its mission to create access to an array of arts and humanities experiences, nurture the understanding of diverse cultures and art forms, and encourage the expanding depth and breadth of cultural life in local communities.

New: Programming Grants Available
Venues that host an EUSA exhibition from July 1, 2014 through June 30, 2016, are eligible to apply for an educational and public programs grant.
Grants of $1,000 per venue are available to underwrite educational and public program expenses, for the purpose of expanding audiences and for engaging scholars/experts tied to EUSA exhibition themes.

Examples include:
  • Engaging a scholar for a lecture related to an exhibition
  • Engaging a teaching artist to lead a workshop for K-12 students
  • Creating and producing education and public exhibition materials for engaging visitors and deepening knowledge
Venues must meet the grant criteria to be eligible, and they should apply at least 90 days before the exhibition opens. The number of available grants is limited and will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.

For more information, view and download the information sheet (pdf).

To submit a grant, go to our Grants Submission Page. Under the ExhibitsUSA Programming Grant heading, click the Submit button.

We are grateful to the Hearst Foundations and the National Endowment of the Arts, whose support makes these grants available.

NEH on the ROAD

NEH on the RoadNEH on the Road is a collaboration between M-AAA and the National Endowment for the Humanities.

It is designed to create wider national access to the ideas, themes, and stories explored in major grant-funded NEH exhibitions. NEH on the Road exhibitions are adaptations of larger projects vetted and approved by the NEH. NEH on the Road is envisioned as an opportunity for community organizations to create new connections to the humanities for their audiences.

Engage Us with Your Ideas

Mid-America Arts Alliance accepts proposals for art exhibitions of existing work to tour nationally through ExhibitsUSA. We are particularly interested in small to mid-sized exhibitions (approximately 2,000 square feet or 250 linear feet and under) with low security and environmental requirements that can travel via common carrier or van line. (Other proposals will also be considered.)
