MaryK_squareMid-America Arts Alliance announces that CEO Mary Kennedy has resigned her position, effective October 1, 2016.

Kennedy has been the CEO of M-AAA since 2002. Kennedy’s decision to resign comes after 27 years of service to M-AAA. She is launching a new consulting firm and will provide consulting services to M-AAA until a new CEO is in place.

“It has been an honor to work for an organization whose mission so closely emulates my own: more art for more people,” said Kennedy. “And it has been my privilege to put that mission into action for the people of our region and beyond. I am grateful for the support of the many wonderful members of our board, as well as M-AAA staff, colleagues, partners, and funders. I am looking forward to continuing to work with the outstanding arts organizations and foundations in the region as I move into this exciting next stage of my career.”

A committee, under the direction of M-AAA Board Chair, Ed Clifford, will lead a national search for Kennedy’s successor. Todd Stein, COO, will serve as interim CEO.
