Meet the Composer

Mid-America Arts Alliance's Meet the Composer program is designed to encourage local organizations to bring a composer into their community to increase interest in contemporary music and in the process of composition.

Applicants may be presenting organizations (arts councils, local theaters, musical series sponsors), musical ensembles (orchestras, chamber music groups, jazz groups), schools and colleges, or artistic companies such as dance, opera or theater.

Projects must include at least one public performance of the visiting composer’s work and one or more educational activities involving the composer with members of the community.

Meet the Composer is a program of Meet The Composer, Inc., and Mid-America Arts Alliance. It is made possible with generous support from the National Endowment for the Arts.
