Texas HELP Exhibitions

The exhibition offerings for the HELP program of Texas are carefully selected to be a diverse group, with some common characteristics: they incorporate two- and three- dimensional objects, they encompass topics that easily fit for history and art museums alike, they elicit broad public appeal, and they are excellent exhibitions to embark on educational, marketing, and program activities.

Because HELP is designed expressly for small museums, these exhibitions don't require large gallery spaces. All HELP exhibitions are designed at the Limited Security Level. These requirements include:

BulletNo food or drink in the gallery or around the artworks/objects at any time

BulletFire protection according to local ordinance

BulletLimited-access gallery or display area

BulletExhibition locked after hours

BulletNo temperature extremes (must be able to regulate the gallery temperature)

BulletNo humidity extremes

BulletNo direct sunlight

BulletResponsible supervision of exhibition at all times

BulletCareful handling

HELP, a program of Mid-America Arts Alliance in partnership with the Texas Association of Museums, is made possible through the combined vision and generosity of The Brown Foundation, Inc., of Houston; The Don and Sybil Harrington Foundation; Houston Endowment, Inc.; The Meadows Foundation; the Texas Commission on the Arts; and the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
