Norfolk Arts Center

The Norfolk Arts Center serves a community of nearly 24,000. Their energetic staff’s goals for NECAP were to develop residency activities that would engage new audiences, specifically junior high Bluestone performs for Norfolk studentsand high school students and to encourage them to incorporate the arts into their daily lives.

They planned a number of residency activities directly related to this goal including band workshops for the junior and senior high band classes. Other residency activities included an "Arts in Economics" luncheon for community members not already involved with the Arts Center, a patron appreciation reception, and Robert’s formal concert, which included a reading by Irish poet Desmond Egan.

The Arts Center was pleased with the response to all of the residency activities and plan to build on the momentum created by NECAP. They were especially pleased with the opportunity to have two artists perform together.
