Mid-America Arts Alliance Hires Performing Arts Program Assistant Kansas City, MO – Mid-America Arts Alliance has selected Amy Zoe Moore to fill the role of Performing Arts Program Assistant. Moore will work under the supervision of Jenny Tritt, Performing Arts Program Manager.
"I am very excited to be part of the M-AAA team,” Moore said. “Much of my experience in the arts has focused on building relationships between arts organizations and the communities that they serve. I have seen firsthand the power that the performing and visual arts have to not only enrich the life of the individual but also to transform the larger community. Working with the Heartland Arts Fund will allow me to play a role in developing a bridge between the arts and communities throughout the Midwest. I am honored to have this opportunity." Tritt reinforced the scope of Moore’s involvement: “In 2004, the Heartland Arts Fund will provide financial assistance for 380 separate projects. Those projects will stage 665 performances and 1,391 educational activities. Amy’s skills in art administration are a welcome addition to the M-AAA workforce that makes those art experiences come to life.” Moore began her employment in the arts community as the assistant to the director of the Historic Shaw Art Fair in St. Louis, where she managed public relations, fundraising, and marketing. She has also worked as a docent and gallery assistant at several Missouri arts organizations in Kansas City and St. Louis, including the UMKC Belger Arts Center for Creative Studies, The Pulitzer Foundation for the Arts, and the Contemporary Art Partnership. “Amy’s career history demonstrates her dedication to the arts, the kind of dedication that has made the performing arts department successful,” said Mary Kennedy McCabe, Executive Director of Mid-America Arts Alliance. “We’re very pleased to have her join us as program assistant.” Moore graduated with honors from the University of Iowa, earning a BA in psychology.
