Mid-America Arts Alliance Appoints Communications Associate Kansas City, MO – Mid-America Arts Alliance announces
the appointment of Sarah McGreer as Communications Associate. McGreer
will produce press releases, newsletters, and create general marketing
materials for the organization. She will also maintain the Mid-America
Arts Alliance Web site, www.maaa.org. “I can’t imagine a more ideal position,” said McGreer, a native of Big Springs, Nebraska. “Working as Communications Associate for M-AAA will draw upon nearly every aspect of my collective work experience and educational background, from utilizing Web software to writing and editing. And I have so much respect for Mid-America Arts Alliance and its mission of providing arts access. Programs like the Heartland Arts Fund especially assist rural communities, like the one I was raised in. I am honored to be a part of that outreach.” McGreer will also assist Tanya Carson, Director of Communications, with editing and proofreading responsibilities. “Sarah’s enthusiasm for her work and her willingness to help Tanya develop our new Communications department are abundantly clear,” said Mary Kennedy McCabe, Executive Director of Mid-America Arts Alliance. “She is amply qualified to fill the Communications Associate position; she is passionate about the arts and humanities. I am very pleased that she’s joined M-AAA.” McGreer graduated cum laude with a BA in English and history from Hastings College, in Hastings, Nebraska. She earned an MA in English from the University of Kansas, where she taught introductory English classes. Upon graduating, she joined Allen Press, Inc., a publisher of scientific, technical, and medical journals, as assistant publisher. Mid-America Arts Alliance, founded in 1972, is a nonprofit regional arts organization based in Kansas City, Missouri. It is governed by a board of directors drawn from its partner states of Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Texas. Major support is provided by the National Endowment for the Arts, participant state arts agencies, and leading foundations and corporations.
