Mid-America Arts Alliance Hires New Member of Grantwriting Staff

Kansas City, MO – Mid-America Arts Alliance has hired Tricia Hoffman to fill the position of Development Associate. Hoffman’s tasks will include the creation, articulation, and execution of plans to increase M-AAA’s contributed revenue through grantwriting. In addition, she will work with current donors and research new funding prospects. Hoffman will report to Xenia Black, PhD, Director of Development.

Hoffman, an employee at Mid-America Arts Alliance since October 2001, gained a valuable holistic understanding of the organization working as Curatorial Assistant for ExhibitsUSA, a national division of M-AAA. In that capacity, she assisted Curator of Exhibitions Jennifer Cahn, PhD, in the development of traveling arts and humanities exhibitions.

“With her knowledge of ExhibitsUSA and the history of Mid-America Arts Alliance, Tricia will be a great asset to us,” says Black. “I am very excited that she’s joining this department.”

Prior to her employment with ExhibitsUSA, Hoffman worked at Berea Children’s Home in Berea, Ohio, and at Don Drumm Studios and Gallery in Akron, Ohio.

“I see grantwriting as an opportunity to gain valuable experience in another facet of M-AAA while putting to use my research, writing, and communication skills,” says Hoffman. “I really look forward to stimulating and challenging work in the development department.”

Hoffman earned her BS in psychology from Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea, Ohio. She is married to Will Meek.
