Development Associate Selected to Join Mid-America Arts Alliance Staff

Kansas City, MO – Darcy Bloss has been selected to join the Mid-America Arts Alliance development department as Development Associate. She will report to Development Director Xenia Black.

Bloss’s primary responsibility will be composition of foundation grant and corporate sponsorship proposals. She will also research and manage government grant opportunities; expand the M-AAA funding base; and assist in implementing communication strategies related to maintaining and cultivating funders. Additionally, Bloss will maintain communications with the M-AAA board of directors regarding development progress.

"As an artist, art enthusiast, regular theatergoer, and general lover of artistic expression I was excited to find a position that is in-sync with my career goals as well as my passions,” said Bloss. “I am eager to tie in my love of development work with my desire to promote artistic endeavors."

Bloss garnered her development experience working as the capital campaign assistant at the Kansas City Public Library. Most recently, she worked as the Library’s programs and exhibit assistant.

“Darcy’s extensive background in writing and her experiences in development and the arts make her a strong addition to our department,” says Black. “I look forward to working with her to develop many fundraising successes for M-AAA.”

Bloss received a bachelor of journalism from the University of Missouri, Columbia. While living in Columbia, she was a staff reporter for the Columbia Missourian and a copy editor for Vox Magazine.
