New Exhibitor Relations Assistant Joins ExhibitsUSA

Christina Medina has been selected to join the Exhibitor Relations staff at ExhibitsUSA (EUSA), the national museum service division of Mid-America Arts Alliance. The Exhibitor Relations department markets traveling exhibitions and assists exhibition venues in maximizing the auxiliary resources and services provided by EUSA.

In her new position, Medina will research prospective institutions for EUSA traveling exhibitions. She will also prepare and distribute printed materials including press kits, programming guides, posters, brochures, fact sheets, catalogs, and miscellaneous information for exhibitors, exhibition organizers, and the press. Her other duties include file maintenance, exhibition material inventory, and EUSA archive management.

“Christina’s role is vital in maintaining smooth day-to-day operations in the Exhibitor Relations department,” said Lin Nelson-Mayson, Director of ExhibitsUSA. “Her past experience in similar roles and her dedication to pursuing a career in the arts inspire confidence in her success with EUSA. We’re very pleased that she’s joined our team.”

Medina is a University of Missouri-Kansas City art student working towards her BA in studio art with an emphasis on photography and graphic design. She was most recently employed on the UMKC campus as a computer lab assistant in the language resource center.

"I feel very fortunate to work with an organization that strives to build cultural understanding through art,” said Medina. “I'm also impressed with the impact of these exhibitions on both urban and rural communities. I look forward to contributing my efforts to such an honorable endeavor."

In establishing her marketing career, Medina worked as a marketing representative at Universal Underwriters in Overland Park, Kansas, where she managed distribution of marketing materials, contributed to marketing strategies, and represented the company at trade shows from 1997 through 2000. She was also employed at Sosland Publishing of Kansas City, Missouri, as an Internet advertising coordinator.
