Mid-America Arts Alliance Names Greg Hubbard as
Director of Finance and Technology
Kansas City, MO – Mid-America Arts Alliance announces
the promotion of Gregory A. Hubbard from Finance and Grants Analyst
to Director of Finance and Technology. Hubbard began working for M-AAA
in October 2003; he succeeds Todd Stein, who accepted a position with
the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art.
“Greg’s strong background in accounting, his managerial
experience, and his knowledge of grant administration make him an excellent
choice for this position,” said Mary Kennedy McCabe, Executive
Director of Mid-America Arts Alliance. “Over the past several
months, he has proven himself to be an extremely capable and valuable
asset to our organization, and I am excited to work with him in his
new role.”
Hubbard’s duties include all financial and technology oversight
for the entire organization. In addition, he serves as principle liaison
to the M-AAA board of directors’ Finance and Audit Committees.
Hubbard was formerly the Controller and Information Technology Director
of the Douglas County Housing Authority in Omaha, where he shouldered
budgeting and compliance reporting responsibilities, supervision of
accounting staff, and management of information technology systems.
Additionally, he worked for three years as an audit manager for Hayes
& Associates of Omaha, specializing in nonprofit and governmental
audits.
“I see this position as a natural fit,” said Hubbard. “I
was comfortable with my role as Finance and Grants Analyst, but this
move increases my responsibilities with the organization and puts me
on a management track that I started when I worked in Omaha. I’m
very happy to be able to make a larger contribution to Mid-America.”
Hubbard earned a BA in business administration, accounting, from St.
Mary’s College of California. He began his career at Maze &
Associates in Walnut Creek, California, as a senior staff auditor. Upon
relocating to the Midwest, Hubbard worked a senior staff auditor for
Frankel, Zacharia, et al, in Omaha, where he garnered experience preparing
partnership and corporate tax returns. He and his wife, Keri, a Pediatric
Resident at Kansas City’s Children’s Mercy Hospital, have
two daughters, Jillian and Allyson.
