Gramse Receives Certification The International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP), the leading association for administrative support staff, has notified Linda A. Gramse of Kansas City, Missouri, that she has earned the Certified Administrative Professional® rating. This advanced professional designation requires the individual to satisfy education and experience requirements, and pass a comprehensive four-part examination. Linda has been an administrative professional for over 20 years and a member of the Northland Chapter of IAAP for over 2 years. She has been with Mid-America Arts Alliance for the past 11 years and has held various administrative positions within the organization. In August of 2002 she became the Executive Assistant to Mary Kennedy McCabe, Executive Director of Mid-America Arts Alliance. The Institute for Certification, a department of IAAP, administers the Certified Administrative Professional program. Approximately 200 examination centers offer the exam worldwide the first consecutive Friday and Saturday of May and November. Since its inception in May 2001, nearly 2,700 individuals have achieved the coveted CAP rating. Benefits of certification include increased knowledge; greater respect from employers and peers; the possibility of 41 semester hours of college credit as recommended by the American Council on Education; and confidence to assume greater responsibilities. IAAP also administers the Certified Professional Secretary® (CPS®) program. More than 62,000 individuals have earned the CPS rating. Both CAP and CPS holders are invited to attend the annual Certification Seminar, which further enhances professional development. # # #
