TwinSpirit to Perform Hypnotic Jazz/Hip-Hop Mix Live in the Crossroads

Free outdoor concert coincides with First Fridays in the Crossroads Arts District

What: Mid-America Arts Alliance Presents: Live in the Crossroads

Presented with support from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Muriel McBrien Kauffman Foundation

When: Friday, July 6, 2007
           7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Who: TwinSpirit

Hailing from Hot Springs, Arkansas, TwinSpirit is a versatile artist with a wide-range of abilities. She is an extraordinary vocalist who has mastered a number of musical styles including an alternative blend of jazz, hip-hop, rock, and soul. A top-notch lyricist/songwriter, and a skilled producer, Mid-America Arts Alliance is proud to have TwinSpirit registered on its Regional Touring Program artist registry.

Since she was very young, TwinSpirit’s unique crowd capturing performance style and vocal ability has won over audiences all across the nation and around the world. Originally from Little Rock, Arkansas, this singer/songwriter has showcased her unique talents at notable venues and events all over the place. In 2005 she was voted SaveOurSoul Artist of the Year in the UK, she was selected as a finalist in the 2006 Indie Music Awards, and her music is in regular rotation on several UK- and French-based radio stations.

TwinSpirit takes you on an exploration of her heart and soul via song. Her vocals are so deeply hypnotic, and her live performances are so honest and real that many have called it "a spiritual experience".

Where: Across from Mid-America's headquarters at 2018 Baltimore Avenue in the Crossroads Arts District.

Why: After 30 years in downtown Kansas City, Mid-America Arts Alliance moved to its new location in the Crossroads Arts District. Because Mid-America's programs include visual and performing arts, free concerts are an appropriate addition to First Fridays and an opportunity for Mid-America to celebrate its new home with neighbors, friends, and KC art lovers.
