Performing Arts Grants Available: First Come First Served
Kansas City-based regional arts organization serves Arkansas,
Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Texas

For organizations seeking to schedule and fund performing arts groups in 2008, Mid-America Arts Alliance has a simple message: grants are available, but it's first come, first served.

Through April 1, Mid-America is accepting applications for grants that provide funding for performances within its six-state region of Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Texas and Oklahoma.

"We have a partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts Regional Touring Program, and our RTP program supplements the fees of performing artists in wide-ranging presentation and performance styles," says Michael Johnson, director of communications.

The grants support projects taking place from July 1, 2008, to June 30, 2009. Guidelines for the Regional Touring Program are located at http://www.maaa.org/rtp/index.html.

Special incentives are provided for choosing artists from the online Mid-America Arts Alliance Artist Registry: www.maaa.org/rtp/artists/search.pl.
