a fundamental form of human expression, dance is an essential
discipline for Mid-America Arts Alliance constituents to
present. The Mid-America Arts Alliance Enhance Dance program
seeks to help presenters make dance a viable discipline
to bring
into
their communities,
to educate audiences about dance as an art form, and to build
a sustainable framework for presenting meaningful dance on
a regular basis.
Pilot Year Project:
Community Residencies with Headlong Dance Theater
For
the 2007-2008 presenting season, Mid-America will be conducting
a pilot dance initiative. We have partnered with Headlong
Dance Theater to bring three of their signature modern dance
works to the region. These works are accessible to all sizes
of presenters and communities and explore the broad range
of modern dance forms.
