Mexico Transnational Project

Mid-America Arts Alliance has always helped make connections between communities and talented performing artists, and now we’re heading south—to Mexico!

Thanks to generous support from the National Endowment for the Arts, M-AAA has funding available for presenters in the six states of Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Texas to support performances by artists from Mexico. This exciting opportunity is available to all presenters in the region on a first-come, first-served basis. Subsidy will be up to 50% of the artist contract fee.

Project requirements will be a public performance, an educational activity, and outreach to an underserved population. We encourage presenters to work with their Mexican and Mexican-American communities in order to make the programs even more meaningful for their local and regional audiences.

We have produced a brochure that includes five recommended music ensembles that are prepared to work with small and midsize presenters throughout the region for events and educational activities in their communities.

Please note that any performing artist or ensemble from Mexico is eligible through this program; the brochure is not meant to be an exclusive roster.
