Arts Funding Update
Federal Arts Funding Announced for FY17
Great news this week! Both the House of Representatives and the Senate have approved a bill that provides an increase in funding for arts and humanities organizations for the remained of Fiscal Year 2017. The National Endowment for the Arts, the National Endowment for the Humanities, and the Office of Museum Services are among the cultural organizations that will see a slight increase for this fiscal year, which concludes September 30, 2017. This is thanks in no small part to YOU—your phone calls, letters, and emails about the importance of the arts did not go unheeded. Here is a chart, courtesy of our friends at Americans for the Arts.
What a tremendous success. But our work is not over: elected officials will now continue to create a Fiscal Year 2018 budget, and arts and culture funding will again be up for debate. Keep watching for more updates on how to continue fighting for #moreart for more people!
