Have Truck, Will Travel
Artist Tom Huck’s Evil Prints
M-AAA first met artist Tom Huck through the Laumeier Sculpture Park in St. Louis. The Laumeier commissioned Huck for his first public artwork, Bugs, two playground “springers” and a climbing apparatus. The project was an FY15 Artistic Innovations grantee, debuting in October 2014.
In June 2016, we happily met again. Tom Huck and the crew from Evil Prints visited Kansas City’s Crossroads Arts District for First Friday, setting up shop right across the street from M-AAA headquarters. We had the chance to chat with Huck and watch the happy crowds as they engaged in printmaking (and print buying). Huck told us the story of how he came by his stellar truck: A former driver for Fed-Ex visited Huck’s studio in St. Louis and admired a triptych print. He inquired about purchase, but found the price too steep. In speaking to the man, Huck learned that he was looking to sell some old trucks that he had accumulated. They quickly worked out a trade, and the EP Mobile Print Shop was born!
The EP Mobile Print Shop is ready to travel to your town. To inquire about booking, contact Tom Huck.
