Helene Wurlitzer Foundation Residency / Deadline: January 18
The Helene Wurlitzer Foundation offers three months of rent-free and utility-paid housing to grantees, providing artists with a peaceful setting in which to pursue their creative endeavors. With three residency sessions annually, the foundation provides residency grants to 33 artists per year in the eleven casitas on the HWF campus.
Painters, poets, sculptors, writers, playwrights, screenwriters, composers, photographers and filmmakers are selected, based purely on the merit of their creative works, by a panel of jurors who specialize in the artistic discipline of the applicant. Artists in residence have no imposed expectations, quotas, or requirements during their stay on the HWF campus. The HWF’s residency program provides the artists with the time and space to create, which in turn enriches the artistic community and culture locally and abroad.
