M-AAA is currently seeking a Director of Development

The Director of Development is a member of the senior management team and provides leadership for the fundraising efforts of Mid-America Arts Alliance. The Director of Development plans, organizes, pursues, evaluates, and manages internal and external systems and methods for securing contributed income from private sources. This individual is working to sustain operating funds and ensure funding for core programs. The Director of Development will establish and nurture effective, collegial working relationships with co-workers and represent the organization in a positive and professional manner. The Director of Development will work directly with the President and CEO and Board of Directors to meet the short- and long-term contributed income needs of the organization.

Reports to: President and CEO
Status: Exempt
Supervises: Grant Writer
Salary Description: $100,000 – $120,000

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and five years of experience in grant writing and research.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise and motivate team.
  • Ability to collaborate with staff, professional colleagues, and supporters.
