Regional Touring Program FY19
Regional Touring Program Brings Out-of-State Artists to 24 Communities
The Regional Touring Program (RTP) provides support for regional presenting organizations to showcase the work of artists from outside their home states. Grants of up to $5,000 allow presenting organizations to pay artist fees that include travel and associated costs. While they often support performing arts presentations, some this year brought artists-in-residence for events like festivals. In total, 31 grants were made, totaling $98,167.
In Arkansas, Parkers Chapel School District of El Dorado presented TALE, a student camp with artists hal evans and Tracy Elizabeth Hults, for a weeklong summer enrichment experience. Thirty students participated, performing Romeo and Juliet at the conclusion. From the district, Traci Couture reported: “This experience will not only benefit the students that participated in the camp, but it will also impact every student and every class I teach from this point forward.”
We are so happy to see the echoes of RTP reaching far and wide!
