M-AAA Announces FY19 Artistic Innovations Grantees

M-AAA is pleased to announce the FY19 Artistic Innovations grantees, supporting the creation and presentation of new artistic endeavors taking place between July 1, 2018 and June 30, 2019.

Grants are made to artists and arts organizations from all six states in M-AAA’s region: Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Texas. Grantees range from dance to film to music to theater to visual arts.

Artist Jamie Horter is creating Senior Spotlight to use art to join two populations that often don’t have the opportunity to collaborate: young people and older adults. “Many thanks to M-AAA, the Nebraska Arts Council, and the National Endowment for the Arts for supporting cultural production in the small towns of Decatur and Lyons, Nebraska,” says Horter. “This grant will help to preserve local cultural history and the stories of our elders for future generations. Thanks to the Artistic Innovations Grant, our communities will have a memento to celebrate and remember our local youth and senior citizens.”
